Day 14 Clean Up Your Vibes Challenge
OMG… Breathing is THE MOST IMPORTANT process like ever. I mean, yes, it is necessary that we breathe to stay alive but the majority of folks out there don’t do it right! ‘They don’t breathe right?’ I hear you ask… ’er…..how can you breathe wrong?’ Well my dear let me tell you…. Lots of people only breathe into the top of their lungs. Their breathing is fast paced and short. Breathing properly can have huge beneficial effects on you in so many ways.
You give your body the oxygen it needs to do it’s jobs
Keeps you calm
Overcomes those feelings of anxiety and tension
Gets rid of those nasty toxins that we all carry about
Helps you sleep better
Eases pain on a physical level
Improves your circulation
Sets off those gorgeous happy chemicals
Grounds and centres you into yourself
So How do we do this right?
1. Take a big deep breath in through your nose – visualise this breath filling you up, right to the tips of your toes. Allow your chest and your tummy to expand aaaaaall the way out. Pop your hands on your tummy and feel it rising.
2. Breathe out through your mouth…. Like all the way out. Totally empty yourself and visualise the breath leaving your body. Make a ‘whoooo’ noise if it helps. Feel your chest and tummy fall back down.
3. Sit here… just for a moment, sit in this quiet little space before you take another breath in. Don’t hold or tense, just allow yourself a moment and see how long you can stay for. It was said that this is a sacred space in which time stands still, healing flows in and we are filled with such love and Universal light that we don’t age within this moment.
Your aim is to breathe in to the count of 7 and out to the count of 11, holding your sacred space for as long as you can comfortably. This might take a little practice and patience but try and you will get there. Now how freakin’ awesome do you feel?
